Getting started on Hardy Boys very late because George was tying up the G4 doing a comic book proposal as a favor for another local artist who quite possibly doesn't really appreciate what George is doing for him in the first place. If we DO end up getting together for a group dinner with the Dark Horse editor who's in town for the Hobby & Toy Show, and if said artist decides not to present said proposal that George spent many hours working up AND impacted MY work schedule for, I will personally tear said artist a new one.

I'm in a pissy mood in part because George asked me, as he headed out to meet the artist in question, if I wanted to go downtown with him and then out for breakfast, but I'm stressing so much over the late start that I feel like I can take a few minutes to do some web stuff and then must get straight to work. Dammit! A meal out with George would have been SO nice... perhaps he can bring me back some takeout from Salisbury House. A Big Nip platter would taste very good right about now.

Now, to flat or to finish? That is the question. There are no new Hardy Boys pages up from Daniel on the FTP site, so perhaps I'll finish the true color flatting before launching into the finishes. That, and I have to send an email to Terry and Jim about the latest art errors I've discovered.

One piece of good news: my GP called with my latest 3-month blood sugar test results, and I'm down a whole point, from an average reading of 8.8 to an average reading of 7.8. *grins*

Note to self: Keep up the good work, Laurie. And don't let the turkeys get you down.

George just phoned from downtown. Bad news all around: Staples could NOT, in fact, print the documents he needed printed (they only had a trainee on staff who looked utterly baffled at the thought of *gasp!* opening files from a CD and printing them), the artist in question took his own sweet bloody time getting down there to meet George (thus wasting George's time, with him already short on sleep from doing this favor), AND George managed to lose our debit card.

*headdesk, headdesk, headdesk*

So -- a quick call to the bank to cancel the card. I'm going to have to leave my work on Hardy Boys, have an insanely quick shower, and bus down to the bank to get a new card issued. I'm meeting George at a restaurant across the street from the bank; fortunately he managed to get $50 out of a bank machine before losing the card, so we can at least have some lunch.

I am SO angry right now, but must remember that emotions are like waves -- they come and go -- and to let myself experience this one and let it pass naturally. Also, to practice relationship effectiveness with George and not say the many hurtful and cutting things that come so eagerly to my tongue at a time like this.

Off to steam in the shower, then.

Back home again.

Afternoon and early evening? Completely shot. Amount of work done? Half a panel. >.<

On the other hand, I picked up my photos from the PharmaPlus, and we got some groceries while we were out, including a delicious lemon slice (a heavenly sugar high which I'll eat half at a time and during my usual eating period). Oh, and I was able to get a temporary bank card fairly easily -- the bank teller knew me, so it was a snap as far as identification went. An actual new card with my name on it will come in the mail sooner or later.

Hmm. Think I'll scan some of those photos and get them ready to upload. Look for a post including them a bit later this evening.
