Yesterday marked the first snowfall of the year in Winnipeg. It melted immediately, but still... not an encouraging sign. Today was wet and cold and clammy, and I broke out my wool coat and winter boots for a trip to the clinic for a blood test (fasting for 16 hours? not my recommendation for a good time, especially when you have to go to a dietician's briefing with your mother for the 16th of those hours).

On a more startling note:

Anarchist

Screw goverment. Try telling me what to do, get the fuck outta here. Let people learn from their mistakes and the stupid will die in the chaos.

Take the quiz: "Whats your political view?"

Who knew? :-O

Last night I dreamed about Micawber. He was our big boy, and he died in March 22nd of this year. He was 9 years old. We loved him very much. In the dream, I held him and played with him again, enjoying the feeling of his big, warm, solid body and his lusty purr. The dream was over much too soon.

I suppose I dreamed about him because this was roughly the time of year when we found him on the street, lost and with an infected tail wound that would have killed him if we hadn't taken him in. This was also the time of year when he got a little clingy, crawling into our laps whenever he could, even when we were trying to work. Perhaps he had some memory of being abandoned. We took time to give him comfort whenever he asked for it.

There's a tribute page to him here:

RIP, Micawber. We still miss you, and we still love you.
