I appreciate the truths spoken of in the article such as the abdication of the roles of Christians in America today. And that many popular "christian" speakers demonstrably fail in both word and action to reveal Biblical Christianity to their fellow man. However, to make blanket statements that project the unscriptural assumption that God is anti-war and that your use of derogatory slang to describe others with whom you judge their salvation status is WRONG. Many a man in the bible was instructed to go to war. Many a soldier accepting Christ was not told to immediately leave his position or tools of war behind. Many a war effort have proved in hindsight to have been justifiable once the dust clears and bodies are counted. There is indeed both a Time for War and a Time for Peace. A Time to Live and a Time to Die.

Having worked in Haiti doing short and medium range missions trips involving 9 trips and 15 years of local support, I can assure you that Aristeed is no saint and has failed his constituency by a long shot. He has done some good but has sold out his effectiveness to cronyism. He had lost all power and authority within his own government. You're trying to compare a poor excuse for a democracy that has corruption ingrained at every level and has for a hundred years with democratically elected political zealot with which they share nothing more than the same planet. Please do not opt to build arguments based upon ignorance in order to attempt to validate a point of view.

The United States has never made war (as you're insinuating with Iraq) "against defenseless people based upon lies and innuendos." Again, you make general statements that are in themselves a lie mixed with a dash of exaggeration. We declared war against a regime and those who supported the terror initiated by that regime. Our attacks were limited to those targets with the task of restoring a non-terrorized life back to the peoples of Iraq. Talk to those who suffered brutally under Hussein. Tell those who had family members tortured by his Republican Guard that we did the wrong thing in removing the #1 threat in their lives. Did we have a number of motives? Yes. Under the auspice of what everyone believed to be true, including your United Nations I might add, we were removing a non-complient and percieved threat from the face of the earth.

Allowing people to suffer under dictatorships like Husseins is a sign of lack of love and compassion. I suppose that we should have avoided WW2 as well? Should we have acted sooner so thousands of our navy men wouldn't have been sitting ducks for Pearl Harbor? Should we have waited until the last possible moment while millions were being exterminated? Or, should we have tried harder to assassinate Hitler before sending hundreds of thousands to their deaths in hand-to-hand fighting? I do not agree with Robertson's statements or inclinations. I do not however, in lieu of history, think that the peaceful option is always an option. You said yourself that "Thus it seems to me that being a Christian—a real Christian—would mean giving up one’s comfort and confronting injustice wherever you find it. It requires taking a moral stand and doing something about injustice," even when it looks like th wrong decision at first?

Does America need to change much of our foreign policy? Absolutely. Have we brought much hatred upon ourselves? Sure. Will there be groups that will always hate us because of what we stand for? You bet. Are there many who will die fighting for a lie? Unfortunately. Let's make sure that it is them and not our wives and children though. Those that would strap explosives around their wastes and kill your kids having lunch at McDonalds need to met with force first. They need to be found and jailed where they will not be able to cause needless death of innocent people.

A true defining difference is how our soldiers pour their love upon kids they encounter whereas the terrorists' pouring into the battlefront of Iraq would kill your kid if he had the chance. And many already have.
