So... today went on that most dreaded of shopping trips: The Search For The New Bra.

Yes, I haven't had one for a couple of years, but what with the dancing class I have coming up, I decided it was time to get at least a sports bra. I came out of The Bay with two of 'em -- one sports, one silky -- plus a marvelous device called an extender which will allow me to tighten them as my weight (hopefully) goes down.

No luck finding a skirt for the class, though. Soft-soled slippers, yes. A few CDs at a used CD shop, including "Earth Girls Are Easy" and "The Partridge Family: Greatest Hits", yes. A scarf for the class turned up here in my closet at home. But no skirt. Dammit.

I even got a load of laundry done when I came back, plus another page of flats on Star Wars. The Hardy Boys editor has sent me a schedule on the next book (20 pages of which are apparently up on the FTP site), which I haven't been able to get up the courage to look at -- just the thought of the job sends cold chills down my spine and makes me feel weak and hopeless. Why do I not feel that I can do this? I've already got several 22-page issues under my belt, and it's not a hard job of painting by any stretch of the imagination.

*sigh* Tomorrow I volunteer at the Winnipeg Humane Society's annual Tag Day fundraiser. Maybe I'll feel a bit more like settling down to creative work after I've finished counting coins for four hours straight...

What is a Tag Day?

Tag Day is when you sit in front of a store and beg for money for our local humane society. I've done the begging part. When you're in front of the store, you're asked to bring a pet, to attract potential donators. If you're lucky, you make a good $100- $150. The most I've heard being donated over 5 hours was almost $500 in front of a grocery store!

Crow Joe's job is important too. We need someone to sit and count the cash and make tabs on who donated what. When you're done with the begging, you bring it in to 'headquarters', and there's a zillion people in a huge room who count the money. Oy.... It's kinda creepy seeing all the loonies in there! I wish I had heard about Tag Day sooner. I would have volunteered again!

Woot to Crow-Joe!!

Trivia for chicks with boobs who exercise - in Walmart and wherever you can find these really thin bra-like tops, they're really just the crop top shape with no real help - pretty useless by themselves - but if you wear one with a regular sports bra, they stop any jiggle. V. useful for aerobics and any kind of bouncing, and I'm a 34C/36D. Yes, my advice is to wear two... lol
