6:07 am, and feeling like the only human being on earth

It's 6:07 am, I've been up painting all night, and God, I feel like the only living human being on the face of the planet.

That, and the studio TV is playing "The Atomic Cafe" on the Documentary Channel, adding a surreal mood to my sense of isolation. *sings* "Duck... and cover! Duck... and cover!" Like that would have done anything in the face of an atomic blast -- but people believed it, which is both sad and frightening on any number of levels.

Is anybody else awake?

Yay! Not the only person on earth, then. (And last time I checked, nothing in a vapor state can work a keyboard, so yes, you're probably still here. Er.)
