The meatloaf is almost done, and it smells gooooooooooood. We'll be having it with gravy, rice, and mixed veg.
A couple of posts back I mentioned some cookbooks from the 1950's that I'd run across. They're from Good Housekeeping, and some pages from Good Housekeeping's Ten P.M. Cook Book are under the cut. Be warned: they are not for the faint of heart.
First up, the cover. I'm sure that's a delicious cranberry/peach whatever, but it just looks a little... icky.

Take a good look at the ingedients in the drinks listed. I would only serve those to "the girls" when I wanted to make sure that they would never come back. Ever.

This is from the "Strictly Stag" section, and is worth it just for the decor.

If anyone's interested, I might post more pages, or pages from the other two books in the series that I happen to have in my possession.
