Got up at 2 pm to discover that our Saturday paper was not outside our front door. George informs me that people were leaving a party across the hall at all hours last night, up to and including 4 am (which is usually when the paper gets delivered). Possible conclusion: One of the party guests took our paper. Much cursing and gnashing of teeth, followed by a call to the Winnipeg Free Press asking them to please deliver a Saturday paper tomorrow via their automated voice messaging system.
Not five minutes after that call was made, there's a *thunk* against the front door. We open it, and there is our paper, somewhat dishevelled but wrapped up in an elastic band. All the parts are there, but it's clearly been read by someone else. *laughs* Perhaps the folks across the way heard our exclamations of dismay... at any rate, by this time tomorrow we'll have two Saturday papers. Wheee.

Oh, and interesting news here in Winnipeg: Tibetan Sacred Art and Artists, coming here March 15-19, and featuring a program of events that I'm considering running past the Full Moon and Circle of Artemis groups as something we might want to attend en masse. Unfortunately, the site, at the Saint Norbert Arts Centre, seems to be quite a walk off of any bus route... mind you, if nobody interested has a car, a bunch of us could meet on Pembina Highway (which is the nearest major bus route) and all pitch in on a cab to take us out to the Centre, which isn't that far. In particular, they have a Tibetan Design Drawing workshop, a Sand Painting workshop, and a chanting performance/workshop that look very promising.
ETA: Having done a bit of research via the Winnipeg Transit website, it turns out you can catch a #62 at Confusion Corner (Corydon and Pembina) and take one bus down to the closest point on Pembina Highway. At their "average" walking speed, it will take 24 minutes to walk to the Arts Centre. This wouldn't be so bad if it's a mild night, but if there's anything like a wind... mind you, it also means that it's probably less than a 10-minute cab ride, which would therefore be quite cheap if four people were pitching in.
Okay. Drinking coffee and preparing to start flatting Hardy Boys again. Whoop!
