So much for all my worrying -- I passed the oral exam for Level 3 with a 99% mark!

Considering we had a system crash through the test (which required me to make a callback appointment with the "respondant" on the fly and explain the problem in such a way that the interview was salvaged), that's a pretty decent score. My Team Leader received the email confirming I'd passed only minutes after I finished the test, and was literally overjoyed. She's been really supportive, encouraging me to move up the ranks at I-R; I've gone "lickety-split up the ziggurat of command" about as fast as anyone can, going from $8/hour to $10.50/hr in eleven months and ending up at the second interviewer rank from the top. Apparently only about 1% of employees are eligible to do so. As you can imagine, that makes me feel pretty good.

Plus, I just got word that Phil Foglio's comic "Girl Genius" WILL continue to be published after all! Huzzah! I've been the colorist for the last two issues, but when the Foglios sold the property to WizKids (a gaming company) it looked like the comic might be scuttled. Naturally I'm very happy about this, since it means I will be able to continue working with Phil and Kaja (fantastic people and excellent artists), as well as getting paid for the privilege.

You can see my color on "Girl Genius" on this 8-page story that I colored in order to get the job on the quarterly book.
