Type II Diabetes

Fuck.

I have Type II diabetes.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. And fuck again.

On the positive side, they caught it incredibly early: my blood sugar is only a couple of points into the diabetic range. Also, this WILL lead to a healthier lifestyle, and if I play my cards right I should be able to avoid health problems for some time to come.

It's hereditary, and with the weight I gained from the Nortryptiline and my sedentary artist's lifestyle (not to mention artist's diet), I suppose this shouldn't be a real surprise. Still, I had my last piece of illicit chocolate the night before last, when I found out, and I can't have any refined sugar until I see the doctor next week. Which sucks.

Grrr. *Looks longingly at chocolate hidden in the cupboard by George, who removed it from temptation without even being asked. What a considerate fellow!* :-D

Thanks, lol... I saw you on AIM last night, after you'd already signed out, as usual. I've got to stop leaving that app open and running in the background while I do other things, with the sound turned down! *kicks AIM, then kicks self*

It looks like Samhain isn't going down this year, but now that you're in the neighborhood and Girl Genius #13 is all over but the shouting, we must do tea soon!

Yaaay **throws hands in air in mock and sarcastic glee** . Another person I know with Diabetes. BTW... The Rocky Mountain Chocolate (or is candy?) factory does some KICK ASS diabetic chocolate **grins** . You have to pay through your nose for a dinky box, but by golly, it's worth every piece! **starts making plans for christmas stocking stuffers..**

You're right, the good thing is that it is caught early so there's a lot you can do.
Type 2 diabetes is almost completely reversible(the effects of it etc), if you change your lifestyle etc.
