The Ulcer and I

Yesterday I noticed a small ulcer on the inside of my lower lip. I put salt on it a couple of times and didn't pay it much mind, since it wasn't painful.

Today it has tripled in size (now about 0.5 cm across) and has some pus. Also, my sinuses ache and I feel vaguely flu-like.

Please, dear Gods, don't let this be an indication of a systemic infection. I can't AFFORD to get sick right now. And my regular doctor is on vacation until January 2nd, so if things get bad I'll have to go into Urgent Care at the Misericordia, and if things get THAT bad I won't be up to taking a bus, so I'll have to ask Terri if she can give me a lift since we don't have enough money for a cab. :-(

I might have to go into Urgent Care in any case, since mouth ulcers in a diabetic can be very tricky things and they say you should not try to treat them yourself.

I'm going to see what it looks like tomorrow and make a call then, unless things go seriously pear-shaped today.

AWWWW.....there's a flu going around. I hope you feel better. Putting salt on it likely irritated it.
If you need a ride at some point, call my cell.

ps. Perhaps call Health Links, they could tell u what to do. my guess is it's a flu or low grade infection. Sounds like it could be a fever blister.

Can you get to a health food store, or have someone go for you? You might want to try wild Oregano Oil -- it has to be wild, or at least 70% Carvacrol (the active ingredient). It's a broad spectrum antibacterial/antiviral/antifungal, and works excellently well for clearing up lesions and inflammation. It also works well for boosting the immune system.

Hrrrm. Lets hope this mouth ulcer is just a minor annoyance that can be wiped out with a bit of antibiotics. If you start breaking into multiple ulcers THEN I'd worry. That's how I ended up in the hospital. Mind you I waited 5 days before going to the doctors. **kicks self**

we could do some healing mojo for you at the next full moon event.
