Bastards with fireplaces

We live on the third floor of an apartment building in a residential neighborhood.

About an hour ago, somebody down below with a fireplace lit a fire.

The smell of smoke is piercing, and has brought the headache that I'd managed to tone down to a simmer all the way up to a full boil. I've taken an antihistamine, but doubt it will help much since the headache has already gotten a foothold (so to speak).

Bastards! (Strong language, I know, but dammit, it IS immensely annoying at the end of a very stressful day.)

(On a happier note, Andrea and her fiance came by for their first handfasting planning session today. We got a lot done and will meet again soon to talk over the version of the ceremony I'll be putting together tomorrow based on choices they made from a number of different sources.)

They were burning crops today. The entire city was covered in haze and it may have caused an early morning pile up on the perimeter. Go easy on your building mates. ;)

smoke

Are you sure it was someone in your building? Half the city was covered in thick smoke yesterday evening from farmers burning stubble that was wet from the on-and-off rain we had. I was at my brother's place in south St. Vital and his house was full of smoke. We were driving home through thick smoke which let up a bit at about Regent. My bedroom still smelt of smoke this morning and I missed work because, despite taking Reactine last night, my allergies were in full bloom this morning including what felt like 2 headaches in one.

Are you sure it was the fireplace?
The whole city was smoky yesterday. My asthma was nasty as a result.
((hugs)). If you had a fireplace PLUS that smoky-ness in the air, my sympathies hon!
Good luck with the handfasting!
