That structure in the foreground on the left, correct?

As a city of over 750,000 people, Winnipeg has MANY gazeboes. ;-)

And many lovely trees, as you can see. From the air, we appear very green.

Correct. And, of course, duh. >_< I keep pegging Winnipeg as some miniature village, while it's actually quite big. And not in Canada - or is it? I really should've studied my American geography better.

Anyway, the many trees look very prevalent, indeed. This is never a bad thing. What's that big, needle-like (from our perspective) white thingy in the background? A bridge?

You're correct -- we're located in central Canada, in the province of Manitoba.

And the big brightly-lit pointy structure is indeed the Provencher Bridge, one of Winnipeg's most recent civic works projects and absolutely gorgeous, IMHO.
