23 is the magic number...
23 finished pages of Hardy Boys today, that is. Which leaves only 11 pages to finish tomorrow.
I OWN this deadline. I'm bringing the book in a day ahead of schedule, and it looks terrific. I've managed to make the weak segments strong and cover the artist's mistakes. What more can anyone ask of a colorist being paid $40 a page?
A bit earlier I sent an upbeat email to the editor, reinforcing that the book would be in early, to counterbalance my rather blunt letter pointing out that the artist had contributed to slowing the project down. Hopefully it will have the positive impact I hope for.
